List of Universities in Edo State

Universities in Edo State are eight in number. The federal government has only one university, while the state government-owned two and five are owned by private bodies.

Below is the list of Universities in Edo State that NUC has approved.

• Edo State University Uzair(EDSU)(located at Edo North, Etsako West LGA in Edo State, Nigeria and established in 2016)
• Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma (AAU)(located at Ekpoma, Edo State, Nigeria and established in 1980)

• Mudiame University, Irrua, Edo State(located at Irrua, Edo State, Nigeria and established in 2021)
• Wellspring University, Evbuobanosa – Edo State(located at Irhirhi Road, off Airport Road Benin City in Edo State, Nigeria and established in 2009)
• Benson Idahosa University, Benin City(BIU)(located at University Way, Off Upper, Adesuwa Rd, GRA, Benin City, Edo State in Nigeria and established in 2002)
• Igbinedion University Okada(IUO)(located at Mission Road Okada in Edo State, Nigeria and established in 1999)
• Samuel Adegboyega University, Ogwa (SAU)(located at Ehor-Ogwa Road Ogwa in Edo State, Nigeria and established in 2011).
